Our sponsored barbeque held on the 29/05/2012 went without a hitch, even the persistent misty rain didnt damper the great time had by all, using a couple of well placed tarps shielded us from the wind and rain, we held it under the new shelter amongst the plants trees and gardens and it worked out fantastic.
We had a large group of our members plus our special invited guests including Eric from the Elermore Vale Fruit Bowl who kindly sponsored the barbeque, Our shed would like to personally thank Eric, Anton and Amanda for their wonderful support of our shed, one way we can as a community support these guys is by visiting and purchasing your fruit and vegetables from their shop in the Centre.
We also had a representative from Greg Combet’s office manager ( Yasmin Catley), as Greg was busy in parliament. Yasmin had nothing but praise for our accomplishments over the last 16 months and assured us of Greg’s continued interest and assistance for our Men’s Shed.
We also had a special visit from Robert Crawford of Robert Crawford Real Estate ( Elermore Vale ) and three of his staff. Robert has kindly agreed to come on board and also sponsor us, assistance by way of donations will be greatly appreciated and in return we have agreed to promote their real estate business on our community jobs and hopefully a display advert on our shed and website.
We had a representative ( Stewart Torrance ) from Alzheimer’s Australia who gave a brief talk about a new scheme for Men’s sheds to participate and encourage guys whom have this terrible disease to attend and get involved in what the Men’s Shed’s have to offer these guys.
Also present was Lester Mostyn (Manager), whom gave a response on behalf of the Elermore Vale Centre – George, Debbie, Denise and Kristy from our office, our shed is indebted to these wonderful people for all of their continued support and help to us in the running of our shed, we would be at loss without their assistance and guidance.
